Why have a memorial for your pet?

A pet and animal companion memorial service offers comfort, embraces the grieving process and acknowledges your relationship with your pet. It is a chance to celebrate the life of your pet and to remember all the wonderful times together.  It’s an opportunity to share stories, create a memorial space or simply treasure your memories.

There are those who may trivialize, or even consider inappropriate, the grief associated with the loss of a companion animal. Nothing could be further from the truth.

People love their pets and consider them members of their family. Animals provide companionship, acceptance, emotional support and unconditional love during the time they share with you.  So when your beloved pet dies, it’s not unusual to feel overwhelmed by the intensity of your sorrow.

As a Funeral Celebrant and Officiant certified by the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, I will collaborate with you and your family in an unhurried personal meeting as we work together to create a loving, personal tribute to your pet according to your wishes.

Being a pet lover myself, I am pleased to specialize in ceremonies for our animal companions.  I know that nothing can take away the grief we experience from such a loss, but a genuine, well-prepared tribute to your pet eases the pain.

Ceremony offers a way to celebrate our pets and animal companions throughout their lifetimes.  Ceremonies for animal companions give us the opportunity to:

*mark their arrival into our lives with a family welcoming,

*create a naming ceremony,

*formally honor specially trained service dogs as they enter or retire from their working lives, and

*pay tribute with storytelling and create a lasting memorial.

For availability and fee estimate please call me at 425.770.9243, or email francis@significantceremonies.com.  Be aware that time is often at a premium in these circumstances.  I would be glad to answer any questions you may have.

I look forward to speaking with you!
